Great Places in Tennessee
Tennessee Chapter Great Places Award
Starting in 2022, the Tennessee Chapter of the American Planning Association will be awarding a Great Places award to both small and large communities in the State. Our state is filled with neighborhoods, districts, streets, and public spaces that bring people together and show a true sense of place. But in order to become the vibrant places they are today, good planning was required. This award is designed to showcase these places and the planning behind them. The Tennessee Chapter award is separate from the APA Great Places in America award listed here.
Submittals for consideration for 2022 will be accepted until July 15th. You can read the details on the Call for Nominations form here (file will automatically download).
Award recipients will receive a presentation during a regularly scheduled meeting of the local legislative body with accompanying resolution by TN State elected representatives. They will also receive a placard for use at their office or at the site of the project acknowledging the space as a TN-APA Great Places Award Winner. Lastly, a press release about the space will go out in TML and County Services newsletters.
