Local Planning Assistance Office
The Local Planning Assistance Office was a bastion of knowledge for planners across the State of Tennessee. Founded in part due to TVA's arrival in the 1930s, the LPAO helped hundreds of communities across the State develop zoning and land use policies. Unfortunately, the LPAO was shuttered in 2011 due to State budget cuts. While the organization is no longer with us, several important documents and presentations from it are still relevant to planners today. Below are a couple of them.
