HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Tennessee Department of Health

Nashville, TN United States

This is a new classification in the Tennessee Department of Health.  An employee in this classification will learn to perform transportation, built environment, and economic development related duties and will create opportunities to improve public health, primarily through increased opportunity to physical activity.  The Healthy Development Coordinator will work on planning, funding, program, and collaboration initiatives and will learn to participate in the varied development, monitoring and coordination of transportation and built environment projects.

This job will be based out of Nashville, TN and cover the 11 Mid Cumberland counties that surround Davidson.

Since you're reading this on the planning website, you may not consider yourself qualified for a public health position. But that can't be farther from the truth. Our built environment--the places that planners help mold--has a direct impact on our health. This job bridges the worlds of planning and public health. If you have any questions about what this job may entail, please contact Cameron Taylor, AICP Candidate at Cameron.Taylor@tn.gov and he'll gladly answer them.
