This position directs the work of the Community Planning Division within the Regional Planning Agency.  The Regional Planning Agency is comprised of the City of Chattanooga Planning Department, the Chattanooga-Hamilton County/North Georgia Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Office of Sustainability.  The Community Planning division develops and maintains the comprehensive plan for the City of Chattanooga- Plan Chattanooga.  Plan Chattanooga is currently in the adoption phase (www.planchattanooga.org).  This division also facilitates the development of subarea plans, directs the application of the citywide planning framework and facilitates plan implementation through coordination and collaboration with city partners and a variety of other public and private stakeholders.  Strong candidates for this position will have a deep knowledge of city/urban and community planning and a history of applying a wide range of community outreach methods.
